Screw you, Google.
Saying “goodbye” to GOOGLE and “hello” to Instagram?! The new search engine.
From chocolate croissants and cups of coffee to lash extensions and balayage, spin class and boutiques… I know my FIRST stop is instagram to get me the DEETS.
More and more I find myself using the search bar on date nights or when booking my next self care day. But why? Because instagram has become a place for businesses to showcase REAL world access into their BRAND.
& because of that I keep coming back.
SO what does this mean for YOUR business? Simply put: it needs to be relevant. But more than anything, it should look like you CARE.
Here’s a 5 step checklist to get your social media {back} on track to relevancy:
Showcasing the consumer in real world scenarios. As a consumer yourself, It’s important to think about how YOU view other brands. Say a restaurant, you want to see others eating there. Say a salon, you want to see others getting their hair done there. Etc… so this is your opportunity to share that - as if they are peeking into your windows! Using REAL clients as your subject. (with their approval of course)
Creative, live content that sums up the experience your business offers. Just like number 1, an opportunity to really SHOW off. But digging even deeper into live content that ONLY your business can offer. So that when a viewer (soon to be customer) comes to your socials they can see themselves as the subject. They can see body language, movement, products in motion, emotion, energy, etc. Nothing says “welcome to our business” than you actually DOING business. Share it with VIDEO content.
Access to your product/offering while allowing the consumer to relate. Gone are the days of stock images and the perfect curated feed to align. IN are the days of YOU, doing what YOU do best so that you can relate others who want to be a part of it. I remember when I moved to my new neighborhood and I was looking for a salon that could help me a achieve the perfect blonde highlighted look - I found social after social of timelines full of “filler footage” - just photos that they thought made their feed LOOK good, but ultimately didn’t make me want to be a client. I was looking for other women who looked LIKE what I wanted to achieve. I wanted to see the result that I was desiring! Results from THEIR business. This could be the case when it comes to you craving the perfect mushroom pizza or a creative mug that you just cannot live without!
An aesthetic that is fluent throughout. I know I just said that we aren’t focused on the perfect curated feed anymore… because we aren’t. But don’t take that as an opportunity to lazily just post whatever is in your camera roll. STRATEGIC content creation is a MUST. SO WHILE focusing on 1-3, also keep in mind the styles your brand captivates. The colors, the fonts, the vibe, the FEEL. Thinking of your socials as a storefront, if you will. So the consumer feels flow even before stepping inside your business. (this is something AMPLIFY can really focus on for you if you haven’t yet found yours!)
Using words in your caption that will ATTRACT that ideal client. This is going to be what sets you apart from other businesses! How you DRIVE traffic and ultimately land the sale. This is how you will get them there in the first place while 1-4 will KEEP them there and scheduling/booking. Using keywords in your captions that highlight what you offer! The yummiest chocolate croissant in town? Well you better be talking about it! The best array of florals for each season? Tell the world! The most beautiful view from your patio? Don’t just show us, explain it! Because Instagram IS becoming a search engine, you have to use those buzzwords that your ideal client is searching!
We could keep you here all day — but we will send you off to go tackle/brainstorm how to evolve your socials with these 5! & as always, if you’re looking to pass it over to someone(s) who may be more passionate in this area than you, allowing you more time to focus on business ALONE: go book your 15 minute consultation call with us, let’s see if AMPLIFY would be a good fit!
