Free Social Media Resources That Will *Actually* Make Your Life Easier

As someone who manages social media in some form or another — whether for your own personal business or someone else’s — it can be real pain to find resources out there that don’t cost and arm and a leg. Is it just us, or does everything have a paywall these days? But, as two people who have been making social media content for businesses since before it was cool (*humble brag*), we’ve come across a few sites and social media resources that are not only helpful but have remained free after all these years. And, because we know we’re all out here in the trenches together when it comes to social media, we thought we’d share the love. So, without further adieu…

5 Free Social Media Resources You’ll Actually Use

Dupe Photos

We’ve seen quite a few royalty-free image sites pop-up recently, but this one is by far our favorite. It’s been so fun seeing how these types of platforms can help talented creators catch the eye of brands and businesses even if they don’t have a huge following. And on the flip side, allowing small businesses to find social-first, quality imagery without having to invest in a huge lifestyle photoshoot. The cherry on top? You guessed it. It’s F-R-E-E.

Percentage Calculator

Okay, okay. This one isn’t nearly as fun as Dupe Photo but when you’re racing to create a quarterly metrics report, this bad boy will be your best friend especially if you aren’t a *numbers person* (IYKYK)… If you’ve ever worked in the corporate world, you know the higher-ups always want a tangible understanding of how you’re performing month-to-month or year-to-year. This calculator can do that in a cinch — all you have to do is plug in last month’s numbers and this month’s numbers and voila — you’ve got your percentage change (crossing fingers it’s a positive number 😅).

Phlanx Engagement Calculator

Speaking of metrics — being able to determine your engagement rate on the fly without all the manual work is helpful in a pinch! Full-disclosure, while we *do* find this to be fairly accurate, we don’t know the equation they’re using to find it, so take it with a grain of salt.

The @Instagramforbusiness and @Creator Accounts

We’ve found that both of these accounts, while run by Meta, have been refreshingly straight forward. Obviously they don’t answer ~every~ question that comes to mind but they can be really helpful when you need some inspiration or are curious about industry news.

Later’s Entire Youtube Account

We know there are a lot of tutorial-style accounts out there, but Later’s library of knowledge is truly so helpful. They’re constantly staying up to date and they seem to have a video that outlines the answer to almost all of our social media questions. We’ve also worked with their platform and would 10/10 would recommend if you have it in your budget!

While this list is certainly not exhaustive, it’s a great starting point if you’ve been scratching your head about how the heck to start building your resource library. And, as always — we love to help! Send us a DM on Instagram, or email us at info@amplifysocialandmedia.com and we’d be happy to give you a few pointers.
